POSITIVELY CHARGED NYLON 6,6 MEMBRANES
Positively charged Nylon 6,6 membranes have the same pore structure as the uncharged Nylon 6,6 membranes, but we have added a cationic functional group to the membrane, retaining all the desirable qualities as the uncharged Nylon 6,6 while adding a positive charge. While the fixed pore structure provides absolute retention of microorganisms via size exclusion, the positive surface charge (positive zeta potential) provides enhanced retention of smaller negatively charged particles such as endotoxins by electrokinetic mechanisms.
